Axelle Mary
Destiny is nothing but encounters.
As part of a Product Design BTS course in Nancy, Axelle Mary (1995), originally from Longwy, had the opportunity to meet the ceramic sculptor Jacques Peiffer from the Saint Jean l'Aigle Faience Factories in Longwy as part of an exploration of the techniques used in the production of these emblematic enamels. It was on his insightful advice that Axelle Mary naturally joined the CERFAV in Vannes le Chatel in Lorraine, drawn in by the mysterious and captivating world of blown glass.
Becoming a Glass Artist and graduating in Glass and Crystal Art in 2017, the time for sharing experiences and making new encounters had come. Initially in Canada for a period of three years during which Axelle Mary, while being a resident at Espace Verre in Montreal, collaborated with renowned studios, such as Pavel Cajthaml's in Coaticook and Patrick Primeau's in Montreal, enriching herself with different approaches and techniques.
Upon returning to France after three years of artistic exploration in Canada, Axelle returned to her roots at CERFAV in Vannes le Châtel to deepen her knowledge of glass decoration techniques while leading discovery workshops for young people.
Axelle has flown to Wales to join the prestigious Baldwin Guggisberg studio in Presteigne. Each of her creations is the result of a harmonious blend of traditional techniques and contemporary creativity, thus narrating a small part of the story of her diverse journey with each new creation.
